Lately I’ve been hearing the term “Post-Racial America” and I just had to stop and think about what exactly that meant. I have nothing against the idea of a post-racial America. It’s the basis of the idea that bothers me. Americans have decided that because for once we have a President that “transcends race” that now America too transcends race.
Well the problem with that idea is, for one, our President doesn’t transcend race. The very fact that people comment that he is beyond race kind of negates the point because you’re noticing his race. People will always see color. Something funny I read the other day said that all it takes is a decimated economy, two wars, and the worst-run Republican campaign in history to elect a black President. Well that doesn’t seem very post-racial-y. Eh, whatever. Your thoughts on this?

I agree. Our country is far from being "Post-Racial" and I don't believe it ever will be. There will always be ignorance teaching ignorance. I recently wrote a blog about this TEACHER I worked with and his racist/ignorant views that he spewed on Facebook: http://tiny.cc/i2O91
wow i just found your blog in google by searching racist in america and want to tell you that this is a very good collection of content and information
