Why Black Music Will Always Be Leaked
by MichelleHuxtable
Everybody either downloaded all the BP3 leaks from the one with Drake to the Timbaland-produced ones. Everybody has had their say. Some people think Jay’s matured and others think he’s wack and needs to go back into retirement. Fickle audience.
I don’t know @TheOnlyTFG but Ricky at InternetGoon stays saying some pretty righteous things on his twitter. Either way, I agree with that tweet.
I can’t tell you how many times I heard “I got that new BP3 leak” either in person, text, on Twitter, Facebook, or some blog. It got me to thinking. Why don’t you ever hear somebody say “I got that new Carrie Underwood before everybody.” or “Yeah, I downloaded that leaked Jonas Brothers jawn.”
Do white artists not get leaked? Is it the genre? Why is it that hip-hop/rap/r&b songs get leaked and pop/rock/country fans wait to get their material? Is their camp tighter? There were accusations that Timbaland and his camp leaked the tracks off of BP3 because the first few were all the ones he produced.
I hate to go here but is it because black people bootleg the mess out of everything? And another thing – why is it when black people steal something electronically it’s bootlegging but when white people do it it’s pirating?

I do feel you on the last comment.
nice article.. u raise some interesting points… but I am still waiting to find out why black music will always be leaked… lol
ha I was hoping the discussion would lead to that answer!
at article makes no sense really cause so called “white music” is on torrent sites weeks before it drops as well..
I think our community likes getting over on authority in general so we make it News…..before now i would agree with the article..
I never thought about that, Green. We just make it much more obvious and stuff. However, I don’t hear white artists complaining about their music being released before they get the chance to put out the album like I hear rappers and r&b artists say. Also, I realize the term white music and white artists are general and in no way correct but it simplifies things.
