I’m Michelle Huxtable. The name is essentially what the tag line says, “A little Michelle Obama & a little Claire Huxtable.” It truly isn’t something you are, it’s something you constantly aspire to be. I once told someone, “Basically I want to be Michelle Obama with a side of Claire Huxtable and sprinkle some Oprah on top.” So that’s what I’m trying to be.

Who wouldn't want to aspire to be like these two phenomenal women… As people read your blog and are inspired to do something, I hope you are inspired to talk education and Hip Hop after reading Beyond the Lyrics. Beyond the Lyrics is a movement; a force. With the site, there is a collision of two worlds; Hip Hop and education. It provides an analytical view of the impact Hip Hop has made through various realms of life. With Beyond the Lyrics, it reminds many music consumers that Hip Hop is very well still alive.
